You should have seen this thing when I found it Thursday. It was a definite ''cookie coin''
This is what it looks like after electralysis and peroxide. More details are showing that really make me think it is a holed coin, but how can you ID something so far gone?
The weather has been great in WI and the digging has never been this good in March.

Not knowing how big it is and the fact that it appears to have a blank side I am going with lucky pendant... :dontknow:

Notice the letter 'N' at 3:00 on the reverse. There is also something that looks like a fountain on the back. Does anyone recognize the markings at the bottom or the significance of the small circle between the legs of the horseshoe? It is the same size as a US quarter.

maybe try a pencil rubbing to reveal what it says?

I think I can make out White Brothe(hole)s & Company .. Probably White Brothers & Company around the perimeter???

That's it! Thank you for seeing what I could not. Your ID made my day, and I am going back to hunt the spot where it came from tomorrow morning. That arabic design seems out of place on a Boston token from 1890.
