e-trac
I found this today while detecting a old farm house here in Ohio, I dont know if there is enough to identify it even if it was ever something.

Found it deep, its almost exact same diameter as a penny but its much thinner, Curious if anyone has any ideas, I see different things on it but none of it makes sense, might be since I have been up since 6 a.m. and its almost midnight... long day.

I'm sorry to say but it looks like you have one those mystery coins we all have lying around we look at often hoping by some fluke of nature some detail will suddenly apear to ID... I would say in my opinion although, It's a great chance that it is a "large American cent" The United States Government's attempt to give the American public one cent's worth of copper. JMO Mike

I am guessing, but with the corrosion and thickness, I would think some kind of token.

I might clean it more. I kind of figured the way it looks wouldnt be able to get anything off of it, was just hoping maybe someone noticed some small detail that might give me an idea.

mike, if you have a detector that shows numeric values, can you air test it to get an idea of the composition? At least some coins and tokens could be ruled out that way

it came in around 12- 25 on the E-trac which is where lead, brass, alum. come in on the machine, 20's are pretty up in the air, I am guessing it is copper though, Indian head pennies come in at 32-38 but this is thinner than Indian head and I have seen badly corroded Indians come in under 32.

All 3 photos are of the same side are they not? The first photo is essentially upside down. I see the head of a warrior facing left wearing a feathered helmet. For me, it was most easily seen in the third photo where the top of his head is at about the 2 o'clock position. I am familiar with a great many tokens, but what I see does not ring a bell. Do you have pics of the other side?

To be honest, I see nothing but a corroded rusted token or coin. I see something on the edges maybe. Maybe my screen is darker than yours... :-\ ???

I think the third pic shows the detail best. The nose, mouth and chin are the most visible details, and those features are about at the 10 o'clock position. It also looks like the helmet has some sort of flap on it that is in front of the ear and extends down to about the mid ear in height. It also appears to me that there is a strap or band that goes from that helmet flap to under the chin. If someone can tell me how to draw on a photo, I will outline the features that I see.

You can try the Paint program. But my screen is way to dark to see anything with the white background.
