Hi everyone as i mentioned in my previous post, i found a small bronze/copper? token or coin, with an image of a deer/elk head on the obverse and the entire reverse is full of writing, the corrosion and tiny letters make it even hard to read with a jewelers loop, any help would be greatly appreciated, im still flipping through my tokens book, and i have not had any luck searching the net!! I can try to get some better pictures if the ones posted won't help. Thanks! and happy hunting!

How tiny is it? Would be nice to have something in the pic for size. I cant judge by the wood grain. I wish you could read at least a few words we could google it.

It is a little smaller then a dime. I believe the last three words are "even silver swap"

I get nothing on the words. It may be the BPOE. Does it look like this Elks head? Wish we could see a larger picture.

Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE; also often known as the Elks Lodge or simply The Elks) is an American fraternal order and social club founded in 1868. It is one of the leading fraternal orders in the U.S., claiming nearly one million members.

Really not sure what your little token represents. If it wasn't issued by the B.P.O.E, maybe it's a token issued by the Hartford Insurance Company. I believe that they also used the Elk in their logo.

Well, there goes my guess.

I was going to say that the reverse looks similar to that of certain tokens and medals by Philadelphia diesinker and engraver George B. Soley, featuring what he claimed to be, "The Lord's Prayer in Smallest Space Ever Struck on Metal."

Heres the Hartford Insurance elk to compare. The nose is higher than the BPOE and antlers longer. This token may be a deer. Is that a shield above the deer/elk head?
