coin,, square hole

hi all ,, i found a coin i guess,, its just skaller than a quarter.. and has a square hole in the middle.. ?? any ideas.... thanks.

Also State Tax tokens had square holes in the middle, from the 1930-40's. Most were made of aluminum.Need picture of to really say what is.
