I'm short one symbol to help you know what it is...I hope to figure it out soon :)

My focus has been Southern Sung Dynasty (1115 - 1260 a.d.)

It was minted in Peking.

It has the "look" of a reproduction... however, I don't know for sure.

Mine is also short one symbol, otherwise identical. Mine is 1735-1796, i think.

Thanks a lot, Jim. I may have a rare Lung. shanlung.gif Mine is 25mm. I wonder what its worth?

*There is a variety of Ch'ien Lung coin known as the "Shan Lung" commemorative issue. It can be identified by the slightly different style bottom (Lung) character -
This coin is rarer than the regular Ch'ien Lung coins.

Also thanks for turning them right side up.

Where you able to ID Ron57's coin?

Definetly Chinese, 1796, just like bigcypresshunter says. (Hey, good ID!) Mint mark is also correct - Public works. Value in this condition about $3, they made a zillion of them. It is rare to find this "goldish" color from the ground, they usually turn green. My guess is that it either has not been in the ground long, or indeed polished?

Thanks for the backup Jadish... You're usually right there for these coins :)

It's good to have someone like you checking my work. :)

Do you happen to know the value of my Shan Lung 1735-1795?
