This necklace and two more Sterling necklaces cost me $12.... The coin is a Walking Liberty half dollar, so I've got most of my money back. I'm wondering if you have experienced selling Gold Filled jewelry to refineries, and what difference there might be between matching items of the same Karat with one stamped gold filled and the other stamped "GL"?

Also found some one ounce 2013 Silver Eagles for $25 each. Good buy or not?

I have never sold to a refinery yet but I would treat the gold filled one as if it were sterling silver as far as price goes. The one marked GL is only plated or "layered" so it isn't worth much. I don't think refineries take gold plated items, do they?

$25 for the AE's is a good deal. They hold a higher premium than melt value and more than other run of the mill silver rounds too.

Good buy on the Eagles. Just try buying those suckers from the Mint!
