What is everyone’s opinion on coin microscopes. Are they any better at helping identifying items than a magnify program on a phone? Talking about the ones under 100$

Same company seems to have several models-what's yours? Are you referring to one of these ?
Then don't waste your time, you have to move this higher than designed just to see anything ...
Second one I think !! But like I said, if I put a coin under in normal adjustment I just see a piece of the coin !Same company seems to have several models-what's yours?
Reviews-maybe a photo example would be nice to see if it's worthy.
Thanks

I purchase mine to take regular whole pictures of coins that I have, but it didn't work, I had to put it on top of books and increase the height just to do that, so now it sits unused ha ha haMine doesn’t have enough upward adjustment to see the whole coin. It works fine otherwise.
i use the middle one, it works great for errors and any damage on coins all the time.Same company seems to have several models-what's yours?

Well I can see the paw print on the back of the Half dollar.I found a commemorative coin similar in size to a dollar coin. I did:
1920x1080 (High Res Low)

2048x1536 (High Res Med.)

2592x1944 (Highest Res)

To get this much of the coin I needed to lift the camera/screen some and set it with the set screws. But this shows you don't lose as much as I originally thought would be lost.
I also dug out one of my Confederate half dollar copies.

Still need to get the lighting a bit better. But I think they're looking pretty good. This was all done without having to use anything to raise the lens other than what is included in the box.
Hope this helps someone make an informed decision on a good microscope to buy in the future.
I have one pretty much like that, yes on most things youd need a longer stem but you can fit a new one with easeAre you referring to one of these ?

Where can I get a new stem that's longer ?I have one pretty much like that, yes on most things youd need a longer stem but you can fit a new one with ease
You can get dowel rods and cut them to size, or small piping depending on the size of your specific stemWhere can I get a new stem that's longer ?
