Those are tokens you buy from the city to put in the parking meters. Soon parking meters will not accept coins at all...progress...I guess

All the ones I have seen like this were from laundromats - instead of using quarters in the individual machines, there was one changer/dispenser machine that put these out and it held the real money. The slots in the coin accepter in the washers and dryers were cut to match the shape of the token, so they couldn't be fooled with slugs as easily. Plus then, the "coin box" on the individual machine didn't have to be as secure since there was no real money inside.

Cool token BigC.Speaking of laundrymat tokens,I found one a few years back from the S.O.S. laundrymat on Sistrunk Blvd.Very prestigious part of town! ;) ;D
