Teller started a piggy bank next to the coin machine for people to drop foreign coins in. I asked if I could have them, the teller said yeah and that she was tired of collecting all those foreign coins.

Ended up with 1 British pound, 2 five pence, 5 Canadian quarters, 4 Canadian dimes, and 1 One Franc (1960).

I was happy with that even though I was dropping off 3 skunk boxes worth...

You gave me an idea, I think I will have my son ask if he can do the same thing (put a piggy bank next to the counter for the foreign coins that would otherwise go into the garbage).

Wow real close to what I used to pay for a pint of bitter in an English pub. It has been a while though, probably double by now. >:(

I don't have a problem with that. I have one of those piggy banks next to every counter that I frequent. It is a garbage can and I dig out coins all the time. Got about $2 in Canadian coins today along with a cool $1 RIO Casino token dated 2002. and an ear ring. LOL. The garbage can works fine for me.
