It measures 1 3/16" , I compared it to a large cent and the large is smaller . What else would be copper other than a large ? I'm new to this ad will be buying a coin book soon .
Thanks for the help !

Does this pic show a little bit more helpful detail , the swirling patterns seem different of American coins ??ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1464620008.464639.jpg

Looks like you've scrubbed it pretty hard. Any pictures of it before the heavy cleaning?

Could POSSIBLY be a Hibernia halfpenny, but no way to know for sure.

Lay a piece of paper over the top, and rub a pencil over it lightly. It may draw out more details of the coin...

Or wipe the surface lightly with corn starch.
that sometimes fills the low spots and you get a better idea of what it might be.

Did you find that detecting?
If you are new to the detecting hobby, absorb as much as you can here on Tnet...
Your town has hundreds of coins, if not thousands, in better condition, just below the surface.

Washington St., 3A....
I'm drooling, 1500 miles away.
