When I was around 8 years old I found this coin buried in my neighbors yard, and I've allways kept a hold of it as a good luck charm, though now I wonder it's worth. I really have no experience dealing with coins, so here are some pictures. Hope you can identify what it is and it's worth! The only thing I can see are the three letters "OMD"

All right guys, at least say why you think its fake! I don't know if it is or isn't but it is kinda rude to just call someones post a fake without saying why. I have no clue but if you see something fake in the pictures that the OP posted at least point it out. He didn't start a post saying he found a priceless old coin, he started a post asking what it was. If your are going to make damning accusations provide some kind of proof. If you can't prove it...at least say why you think it's fake! I would really like to know too!

I should have said counterfeit , because this coins are some of the rarest and has been reproduced by the thousands, didn't mean to affend anyone by no standard, just my poor choice of words, acman

No, actually you are right, modern fake is the proper thing to call it because that's what it is. The term counterfeit should be left for coins that were made during or close to the period, and made to deceive. The coin in this post is not that, it would be closer to a toy coin than anything else. And what about it makes it a modern fake... Everything! (Cast not hammered, and silver plated)

PS: The only value it has is the laugh you can get by planting it for your friend to find.
