Not giving you much to go on here but everyone's been helpful in the past. It almost looks like the reverse on an early 1800s King George britannia but not everything lines up. Since it was in such bad shape, I lightly sanded with 0000 sandpaper to bring out a few highlights. Can't make out much of anything on the bust side. Measures a hair over 28mm, a little thinner than a LC. I wouldn't worry about it but its pretty early for our area. Thanks for any help

Next time try soaking in a light oil then just rub it and look in natural light. Sometimes you'll see what it is, most times when they are toast, they are toast. Whats the other side look like?

Congrats on what might be an old copper penny, maybe a half (need a size reference)

Nice find and we both learned something today.... Use oil.... thanks to both of you.

Thanks for the advice, I never go to this extreme but this coin is on the verge of being completely shot anyway. I did use oil intially, used light at every angle, might not get an ID but I believe Ironpatch helped me ID a King George in the past that shocked me that he ID'd.

No idea, but congratulations!

I've found Chinese coins before, but the ones I've got have square holes, so maybe round holes were punched through them as well.

Nicely done, and all the best,

Lanny

Maybe a token?
