I've been looking on the net without and luck. my opinion is that it is an early campaign token

The bust appears to be different to me. Note the biggest difference to me is the shoulders end sharply on the found token, and they continue through on the penny. I see other slight differences also. That said, I have no idea what you found other than perhaps a foreign coin.

That would be cool! Do you agree that the bust looks a little different than a Lincoln penny?

yes, different for sure. possible it is a foreign coin, but it I lean more towards early campaign token. and by that, I mean Abe Lincoln or earlier like Andrew Jackson or Henry Clay. Possibly someone who ran against them. I did searches of early campaign tokens and hard times tokens and had no luck finding a match. Hopefully someone here can ID it for you.

Thank you very much for your research! I hope an ID can be made. I have never found a campaign token.

I can't really tell but i'm looking at how thin it is compared to how thick the lincoln is. Looks to me if someone flattened a lincoln that thin it would be almost the size of a quarter.

Agreed. And I don't think it would keep a perfectly circular shape.

The head looks a little like Edward VII but the diameter doesn't match anything I can recognize.
