I really need help IDing this coin. I can't find one like it online anywhere. I can't read anything on the back. The front has a man sitting and below him it says --nas. It's the size of a quarter.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Coin Help pleeeeeeease....

Hey Diggerbug, This is just a quick guess, but looking at the man's posture, it is possible that it is a coin celebrating Gym (nas) tics.

Maybe a souvenir medal.

What do you think???

One Centavos from the Philippines. These were minted in the US and used in the Philippines Commonwealth. 1903-1945

It featured a male seated at an anvil and holding a hammer in his right hand. In the distance is seen the smoking volcano of Mt. Mayon

Did you recognize it when you first saw the pic, or did you have to do a little research?

I actually have a couple of these coins in my collection--and I knew I recognized the design from somewhere...but failed to put two and two together. Nice work!

I found one detecting some years back. It was at the base of a cliff not far from where I live.
