I recently purchased a used end table and as I was cleaning it out I noticed something at the back of the drawer. Originally I thought it was a big chunk of dirt or something but it turned out to be this old coin. Given the woman I bought it from had a slightly Eastern European accent and the metal slide mechanism on the drawer says it was made in West Germany my best guess is that this is a German coin - but I don't know any more than "old German coin" or if that much is even right.

I measured it and it's 5/8" of an inch across - it's a very small coin, smaller than a dime. Here is a closeup of the back

Here it is next to a penny:

Here is the front side with the picture of a woman who appears to be wearing a tiara:

If you cannot make out the text on the front it reads exactly: "WILHELMINA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN". When I saw the text Nederlanden I am more under the impression it is from the Netherlands now since that looks to me to be Dutch writing. I do not see any other markings and I'm not quite sure what it is made of. Can anyone help tell me what this coin is and is it worth anything? I bought the stand for $20 and I joked with my friend - wouldn't it be funny if this coin was worth $20? But I'm not usually so lucky. I just know it's old and old coins are more valuable than newer ones occasionally. Please help - thank you in advance for your assistance!

Netherlands. "Wilhelmina, Queen of the Netherlands." The metal is 64% silver.
This 1911 10¢ piece is worth $5-10, F-VF.

Cool, thanks for the info! I wouldn't have found this site if not for this coin - I have a few other coins I've managed to collect that I'm unsure of their true value or what some of them even are. Will be sure to keep coming here though, thanks again!
