For the first half of 2007, it has been about average, however, each year seems to be more of one thing than another, and so far in 2007, lack of some coins just fits into the pattern, seems like alot comes when you least expect it. I'm below average for the year on Colonial coins but getting early year Large and Half Cents more than makes up for that. I really only concentrated of a few new sites so far and hope to come up with a few more for the upcoming fall and early winter hunts.
Remember that where you live in this country or abroad is the main determining factor in the type of finds you will get. Enjoy the hobby no matter what your finds are.....

The best find in this group is the clipped planchet counterfeit KGIII, it is only the second one known of that type by the colonial collectors, the coin is currently being studied by an individual writing an article on counterfeit King George coppers.

Very well said Don. I don't think anyone dropped old coins in my neck of the woods, because I never find them? ??? ;D
Yours are so old, the only one I recognize is the IH. :o
Congrats to you Don. Fantastic finds.

Wow, those are some Awesome Finds. I thought the 1899 Silver Dollar I found
Jan. 11,2007 and a 1836 Large Cent in really great shape were good finds for a half year, but man you beat the heck out of me.

I guess I just need to take a vacation up east. LOL

Thanks again for the great post and pictures.
