Seems like the coin purse and multi-coin finds are showing up a lot here lately. My freind and I went to a site a few days ago and started hunting. I found a signal right off the bat, and dug. Dug some more, and then more, and still, dug. I started to wonder if I was even digging a good signal, when I swung over the dirt pile from the hole. The signal was there. Wheat penny. Rechecked the pile, and another signal. A merc! Rechecked the pile, no more. Checked the hole, and still had a signal. I popped out another wheat, and then another merc! All from 9 1/2" down! I found a solid sterling silver spoon, and figured I already had found the best take for the night between the 2 of us. Wrong.

A little while later, my buddy starts calling me over to the truck. He says "you gotta see this"...which always raises my heart rate ;D. He then opens his wallet (when he finds something special, he puts it in his wallet right away to keep it safe) and pulls out 2 mercs, 4 wheats, and a silver half! He said excitedly, "there's more there too!!! My batteries are dying, and I can't get the rest out of the ground. I gotta get my battery pack outta the truck and get back over there!!!". So, needless to say, I left my little area to follow him and watch him recover the rest of his loot. He goes over and pulls up another wheat and a buffalo nickel. All from one little hole (well, the nickel was a few inches off to the side).

Now I don't know about you folks, but when this happens, I get all excited and start slinging the detector all over, walking fast, and ready to pounce all over the next little beep. (in other words, I come unglued). In spite of my ravaging attacks on the ground, I only found a little clad. We went to a couple other sites, and I found 2 mercs in the same spot, and my buddy found a merc and a rosie in the same spot!

4 pocket spills!!! Don't know why, but we just got lucky this time! Finally rewarded for all those silverless trips I guess.

Here's the pics:

Great story. Great pics and great finds. Congratulations!

Way to go, Cheese. Nothing like two (or more) for the price of one, especially silver.

Haven't had too many multi-coin holes lately. Back in 1993 I had my best one. Morgan Dollar and a Barber Half in the same hole. Also found a Seated Half and Seated Half-Dime that same day. Congrats! And good luck in 2007!

woo-hoo dude !!! that is awesome......... ;D ;D ;D makes ya hope they just keep coming..... :o ;D :o ;D 8) 8) 8) :o ;D :o ;D :o ;D

Thanks for the comments! I'm planning on a trip to a new site tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be back with more goodies!

Buckleboy...I don't know if I could contain myself if I found a dollar and a half dollar in the same hole! Heck, I haven't found either one with a detector yet, let alone both at once!

JohnnyX, they're out there. Look in places where people would be sitting ie: under old trees in nice picnic spots, places where park benches are/were, etc... Also around swimming holes, and places where people parked their vehicles.

Danimal...did you find a bunch of reed plates at the 'Berg? ;D ;D ;D
