This is kinda neat! Green patina coloring like a nice IH would have.

The diagram on it has numbers in the left two columns and right two columns. The bottom is a month calender. The top row are months (JA FE MR AP MA JU JY SE OC NO DE) the row underneith the months are the corresponding number of days in that month. The entire block in the center must be a calender and if you know what day your'e on now, then you can read across or diagnal or something to read the days of the week. I'm guessing anyways.

The lettering on the edges go as follows:
H.S. BANKS & CO.
THE SOUTHERN DIS'CT OF N.Y.
ENTERED ACCORDING TO ACT OF CONGRESS 1853

There's some other lettering but I can't make it out. It has the diagram on both sides, but the other side has differant numbers, both sides numbers are high digits, 84 and 98 tht doesn't make sense for a calender to me. But what do I know, that's why I posted it for all you old timers and smarties out there to tell me what it is and how old is it?

not sure. Have seen some coins that were put out as promotional items. They were what is call a perpetual

calendar. You would be able to determine the day of the week on which a certain date falls, it could be used for many years.

Like I said, not sure, but could be.

have a good un............
