Thanks SkaBa! The black piece is cool. I was able to scrape some of the black off with my finger nail to detect metal underneath, but hard to tell where the metal starts and stops due to all of the other things attached to it (like shells etc.) thanks for your rely! Have a nice evening!

Been wanting to go down there and detect----have to wait till a hugh storm goes thru---maby get lucky then

Doesn't look like a shark's tooth, but more like a broken off front fang from a bear.
