I have a MXT with 2 coils, the 12" 300 and a 10" D2, I am not sure what to use these for, Coins and Relics are the only thing around here, and the soil is thick organic, and being in the east tons of trash. What is the best coil and procedures to use to find treasure. I think there is alot of mineralization in the soils here (west penn) I would appriciate info. thanks

i think the d2 is gonna be the better of the two for trashy locations and the 12" is gonna be deeper in unmineralized ground so if the trash density is low and the ground is not mineralized id go with the concentric 12" but if its high trash definitely go with the d2.

The MXT with the D2 coil is like the MXT on steroids, its very deep and separates pretty good for a big coil. I use the D2 95% of the time and I try and run +2 gain for depth any higher and there's a little to much noise to hear those deep whisper targets. Some places with bad EMI you might not be able to run that high of gain as there will be even more noise with the added EMI. HH

Get yourself a 4X6 DD "Shooter" for trashy sites. Great coil for picking out targets in a messy area.
