Coil question for Explorer (advice on a smaller one)

I usually do excellent with my ML 8 inch coil, I used it this morning in heavy iron and pulled out a Classic Head Large Cent and one Tombac and one flat button that the SE Pro Coil missed in the iron. I have been using the ML 8 inch for about 50% of my hunting over the past 7 years or so......... Pinpoint is deadly with it btw.

thanks!

That be the Minelab FBS coil, YES, also, if you have not done so, in heavy iron areas, where the iron hits are rather rat a tat tat fairly steady, lower Sensitivity quite a bit when using your stock coil, if for example you normally run in Auto or Man at say near max, cut it in half, not sure if SE is like the XS, but 32 is max, I usually hunt 28-32 normally, but in very heavy small iron hit areas at homesteads, if you cut that down to about 16 or so (experiment) you would be surprised how it will pick out good targets that are missed at higher sensitivity, but once you get out of the heavy iron hit area, raise sens back up for maximum depth/coverage.

I noticed on the ML 8 inch doing the same is great, but depth loss with the 8 inch can hurt you if you cut it back too much.
