The standard coil cover for the 1500 & 2500 Garrett is solid disk and makes it harder to get a good pinpoint area in relation to whats under the cover.
I took my pen knife and scribed all the openings in the solid cover and they came out marked just fine I then drilled all the corner radius in all the openings with a 3/16 drill then cut them out with a fine skill saw and touched them up with a fine file. The cover now is a see through with less chance of holding small flakes of minerial or other metal flakes. and Much Much easier when pinpointing.
