Good morning, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 9 inch coil but am having trouble deciding between the X35 and HF coils. I am primarily a coin shooter and tend to hunt in 12 kHz with my 11 inch LF coil. Looking at the specs, it would appear as if the X35 coil might best suite my needs. However, I've noticed that the most experienced guys on the forum all have HF coils. I could envision myself hunting in 14 kHz and then cleaning up in 28 kHz.

Also, I believe that there are trimes and half dimes left over in sites located near me that guys have missed due to the small size of these coins. Which coil would be better for finding smaller US coins? Please help me spend my money wisely, thanks!

My two cents cryptocurrency (not worth much). Many of the videos about the HF coils were made before the X35 coils came out. So compared to the LF coils, the HF is definite improvement. Once the X35 coils came out, the margin is smaller. To me, that means if you want an HF coil, the elliptical might be the best option.

the great thing about the x35s is that you can go low khz and high. very few go above the 27-28 freq. plus it has the 4k boost mode.... i sold my round hf and got the x35. but that's just me.

X35 gives the best flexibility to the coin shooter. I seldom go above 28 khz with the HF and as primarily a relic hunter. am content with the 13 khz low end of the HF. For coin shooting, I want the ability to go low frequency for deep silver or split the difference at 8 or 12 khz and for the occasional jewelry or relic hunt, the x35 gives you coverage on the high end too. With frequency range from less than 4 khz up to 27 khz, the x35 is a no brainer choice.

I ordered the X35 just a little while ago! I will probably end up selling my 11 inch LF coil because I almost never hunt open areas. I can always use my Equinox if I want / need to cover more ground.
