I bought a used gold bug 2 and didn't know too much about it. I used it with the coil cover on and took it off to clean it for the first time and noticed its abnormally spotted and has a few tiny pin holes... I'm assuming this isn't normal but hoping it is. The detector seemed to be working ok. Thoughts??

I would probably fill the holes so water couldn't get in---------------call Kellyco repair and ask them before you do any repairs.

I haven't heard back from them yet, just left a message but what I found odd was my larger coil has an additional bottom that's glued on protecting this black side. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1463610041.760374.jpg

You might want to call Fisher and send them the photos.

It looks like a factory defect but if the pinhole was caused by a bubble that popped during the Resin cure then it would still be waterproof.
The larger looking deeper bubbles around the pinhole might be a defect that Fisher would want to look into.
They can tell by the serial number when the detector was sold new and that sure looks like a factory defect ... not use or abuse.
