Found this in the front yard of a home, maybe 4 inches down. Home dates to the 1930s. Considering that the previous homeowners ran a handyman service, is it from some kind machinery? There are no markings on it that I can tell.

Are there any letters or markings on it at all.If not it is so generic it will be hard to I.D. it, the only identifying feature I can notice is the shaft that would be in the cog is an oblong shaft.

This might have to remain a mystery. I cleaned it up a bit more and examined it with a 7X loupe. Still no identifying marks. Thanks anyway for all the input.

First thought was a gear from a reel mower. But I can not find a match online!:dontknow:
