Cocoa Beach, Florida.....

Dan, Cocoa Beach is always a good place to hunt, especially this time of year with all the tourist swarming to our little island and surf contest that happen at this location almost weekly (last weekend was the woman’s surf contest). Cocoa beach is a very good place for modern clad, and plenty of jewelry. Not just Cocoa Beach, but all the beaches between there and say Melbourne Beach about 10 miles to the south. However, the reason that you don’t hear a lot about it is just less than an hour south on A1A are the wrecks of the 1715 fleet, and the tempting treasure that is scattered up and down those beaches.
Unfortunately, all of these beaches were subjected to very intense beach reclamation projects over this last winter, so this year (unless hurricanes change things); most beach finds will be modern treasure this year.

Thanks Wreckdiver.....perhaps I'll mosey down your way. If I get too far south is there anything that will tell me when I'm getting onto the restricted 1715 fleet area?
Happy Hunting. Dan

The beaches adjacent to the 1715 fleet, you are free to hunt from the water line to the base of the dune and it's all finders keepers.

That reclamation sand stuff sure gets hot.
Had a good time, found two gold rings, a silver anklet and enough clad to keep me in batteries for a while.
Happy Hunting. Dan

If you want to call it sand, It's more like dirt. Hurricane season should fix that situation.

i know it should b obvious, but"restricted 1715 fleet" i don't get it,does that mean the goverment knows were its at and won't let anybody get it?why hasn't anybody dive 4 it,i'm probably missing part of the story, could someone explain 2 a simple guy like me from start 2 finish
