Cobble Ranch RENAMED "one of each ranch"

This site has really turned me into a believer.? Each night I get alot closer to total skunking, but each night I hit one of the biggies.? Tonight, I DID NOT DING a Seated Liberty Dime of 1891 vintage.? Anyone notice that all of the old coins I have found out there are the last year of issue?? I damn sure did.? This one came out kind of tarry, and since i don't really collect to sell, I cleaned it a bit.? I am so ready for the weekend when I can hit it ALL DANG DAY for TWO DAYS STRAIGHT.? I like getting? off of work and hitting the honey hole, but I really plan on completing the US coin set this weekend, LOL.

No, I think you are too far away to partner up here. The GREAT thing is that it is clear to me that the 10 inch coil is far too big for this site. When I swung a few square yards with no discrimination, it sounded like a casino in the headset. There is likely so much masking going on there that I have missed bags of good silver coins.

Having a new good spot really get's you pumped, huh?

The weather was so nice yesterday I took off work a little early. Wanted to just relax and be a clad slob. Turns out the first coin I dig is a 1917 Merc. Shortly thereafter I got a nice 1935 Wheat. My son and I went back later and got 11 more wheats. We were pumped. I know it's not like your site but it's just exciting to get a spot that has "potential". I can only imagine what your dreaming of... ;D

Anyway, that is awesome. YOU ARE THE MAN! From clad slob to instant fame! lol

That's what's got me so jazzed.? I mean I MD every weekend no matter what, single, no kids, just do what I please.? And I have only found one silver quarter after a year of digging.? But I still go out there every weekend because I like the excercise, I think it is neat that you can pay for your MD on the crusty installment plan.? The only excitement is when my readout said quaerter and not penny or dime.? No matter what it said, though, it was going to come up clad.? One day I dug a sterling ring that had been plated, and what are likely 5 CZs and that was a banner day as was the silver quarter.? But I got more silver change out of the candy machine at work that I ever got out of the ground, (2-3 pieces a year.? I eat alot of snacks, lol).? And now all of a sudden, there is the hope that perhaps every signal I get is going to be spectacular.? And then I dig a corroded penny that doesn't even have the courtesy to be copper.? But the next time.........

And BTW, last week I had one goal, to find a mercury dime. I think it was the most beautiful coin in US common coinage. It is so classy looking and elegant. But I have never found one. I actually wanted one more than the Barber or Seated. Of course now, I think otherwise. BUT, I still have a drive to find that coin!

Great to have your own spot, especially one that you know is a producer and no one bothers you.

I can see it now, you digging and digging around one of those stones just so you can get the entire stone out of the way because you got this great signal directly under it. Maybe you need to go to lowes or h-depot and get a set of those cheap knee pads. I look forward to seeing your next first!

Maybe this weekend I'll track down the owner of the property where the old Union Church was in my community. Started in the late 1800's and closed in 62 when I was born. It has long since fallen down and been forgotten, at least I hope.

And here you were haranging me about posting the old car with the Walker. I don't feel a bit sorry for you now. I'm just green with jealousy. I have no seated finds yet. Nice job.

Guess you won't be coming back to MS for a while, eh Slug ? ;)

Guess I will have to visit you in TN before the cobbled honey hole is totally pillaged.

;D

Re: Cobble Ranch RENAMED "one of each ranch"

hehe, yeah, Spotz, you knew I was joshin you right? I LOVED that old car!!!!

Re: Cobble Ranch RENAMED "one of each ranch"

Great looking coin,,, WTG!!!
Good luck with that promising site, & Happy hunting~

Re: Cobble Ranch RENAMED "one of each ranch"

Very nice!!! If your allowed to go back over it. No telling what a smaller coil might find. WTG!! HH

Re: Cobble Ranch RENAMED "one of each ranch"

Allowed???? Ha, I get off early every night just to dash down and spend two hours there. I have enough early mornings logged as a result to leave mega early Friday and I inted to put in a 12 hour day Minimum on Sat and Sun........allowed, ROFLMAO!! But yeah, the mini coil is gonna be key. I just got myself convinced it was far too large to search anything less than a 10 inch. But I had my eyes opened last night.

Re: Cobble Ranch RENAMED "one of each ranch"

ARRGGHHH My sarcasm has slapped me in the face!!!
I had to crank out a commercial tonight and could in NO WAY get out before dark.
At least I can get off a 12:30 Friday now as a result, which makes 2.5 straight days of coil swingin fun.
Oh God. I hope it doesn't rain this weekend. Oh wouldn't THAT put me in myplace. I might as well set a goal
for the weeknd. ANY half, one of the more exotic pennies AND a gold piece of any denomination or a good gold tooth with denture material, LOL.

Re: Cobble Ranch RENAMED "one of each ranch"

I wish it would rain all night! You almost have to chisel a plug out around here. It might help you too to have a little moisture. Bet your back is going to be killer by Sunday afternoon. GL
