Found this piece and was wondering if the Co L stands for a company in the military or is it a company name. Whats strange is the o in Co. The o is up high flush with the top of the C that's what I can't figure out. I did manage to find another piece that I believe goes to it and it says EAF. I scanned a large area around my finds but couldn't come up with the other pieces. The first measures 1.850 inches wide by 2.5 inches long. The second measures 2.480 inches wide by 4.2 inches long. Any ideas?? Thanks for looking!

Its not unusual to have a small o in the company name abbreviation.

LOL I find the craziest stuff. I wish I could of found the other pieces. I bet I searched a hour around that area. It just struck me odd as it having a high o. So I thought I would throw it in and let you fine people take a stab at it! Thanks Cypress

Ive seen the high o before or it may be a casting imperfection. I guess the two pieces dont fit together. It may be from a cast iron stove. It may end in Co. Ltd. :dontknow:

Funny you mentioned that, I had a person tell me the same thing it looked like it came off a iron stove. I was gonna throw it in my iron pile but wanted to make sure first.

All companies had their own codes years ago. That's what makes all this old cast iron interesting. As far as I know the Military never used an L as a company designation? Tony
