One part of this school dates back to the late 1800's I believe it was a church at one time. Later it became military barracks and finally a school sometime around 1920's where the red brick buildings were added across. This was a special permission hunt as the campus is a locked campus. We found no silver which surprised us. Plenty of clad to go around and one member found a .50 cal shell. The ground was like concrete and the area had been filled in with dirt. The clad we found was on average 3-4". There were Saturday classes in session and it didn't take long for teachers and students alike to come out and take an interest. The later part of the hunt we let some of the kids and teachers try out our different detectors while we explained how they worked and the proper way to recover targets. Although we had no super remarkable finds today it was great to be out, and share the hobby. I also got to spend the day with my 5yr old pictured below with his detector and find. (a part of a pen). His best find of the day was an unlit black cat firecracker. Also if you look close in the first pic you will notice his hair, the child decided to cut it himself the other day in school..because he needed something to glue to his paper that was fuzzy... kids you gotta love em.
