Could this be a Clovis or some other type of Paleo point? ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1455805756.463095.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1455805765.796312.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1455805774.347705.jpg

It is piece of broken point, impossible to really know what type...

With pieces like this it's really hard for me to properly identify without holding the point. There are just some identifiers that are easier to feel than see. Such as basel grinding etc..

I'm in southern Illinois. Attached is the only let type in this area that has a concave base, that I have been able to find, and it's early archaic. The others are all Paleo. I know it's hard to tell from just a broken fragment but I am just curios if anyone has some general guesses..ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1455837349.014587.jpg

I'm also curious if that is Clovis. I figured the base was it's unique characteristic & a dead giveaway. Then again I'm relatively new to N.A artifacts. What other points can they be mistaken for & what are the approximate age differences? I'm not sure how determined I should be this spring to find the tip to this.

It does not have that Clovis flute to the base and like it was already said, it's hard to tell just from a base sometimes. I would keep it

Here we have Woodland points that look like Dalton and Paleo called Camp Creek and Candy Creek. So for me to say I dont have any examples of the older ones to say either way. It would still be a nice framer.
