found this little guy a few outings ago and at first thought it may have been a saw medallion but after inspection, I think I can rule that out....and then I noticed two slits, opposite each other on the knurled rim. Now I am even more clueless. I have found on this same site a lead push-on cap from a gunpowder tin but this one is similar but is male threaded and not lead. Hope someone can identify it, for it has me stumped. Thanks for lookin,vn

Danged that I can't remember how to mark it solved without that easy thread tool button......can someone please remind me how

It looks super thick and strong to be for a top to a can. I was thinking very early engine part for a car?
