Called a fellow Treasure Hunting Club Member to see if he could sneak out for a few hours. Twenty minutes later and we were headed to one of his permissions. It's an old house that was built in the late 1800's.
This place has been hit a hundred times. I was told that 2 other club members have cleaned out the clothesline area. With nothing to lose, I decide I would try my luck.
Put the DEUS through it's paces and after about 15 minutes of circling the clothesline, I got a high pitched signal but a VDI report that did not indicate silver. Sank the predator into the moist soil and popped a nice sized plug. At six inches, my Garret Carrot said deeper. At about 8 inches I unearthed a copper disc laying next to an iron bolt. (Reason for the strange signal.) I thought I had a large cent but when I got home and cleaned it, I discover that it was actually an 1844 Canadian Half Cent, (Bank of Montreal)

Way cool half cent! It's in very nice shape too. Half Cents are always my favorite coppers to find. I thought I had one yesterday when it was still covered in dirt. When I knocked off dirt from the other side I realized I had a big flat button.
You did a nice cleanup on her too.

Wow it’s in nice condition
Excellent hunt

Congrats on the Half Penny, liking the patina on yours.

Too funny it was the only target dug at a site yesterday also.

That's an awesome condition. I haven't found one so well preserved where I'm at. Congratulations!
