Got out at 11 am.......to the woods as well................tried to do a little speed hunting,and picked up 1 rosie,5 mercs,a barber dime, 1906d...and a
STER[THEDA]LING Star of David Bling.....Has to be old,cause it was my deepest find..........and 37 wheaties........4 From the 50's,,11 From the 40's,,,8 from the 30's (including a 1931d
)...6 X 20's........7 from the teen's (including a1913d & a 1915d) .....and 1 X 1909....No VDB............
...........................I did this all with a short 5 minute water break, and back at it again.........

I had emptied my bag of trash, and put away the clad I had found during my water break......I probably had a couple dollars worth (and a Sacajawea $),,,Then after my water break...,and finding my 5th,6th,and seventh silver..I thought I better take a picture of the trash, and clad I had in my bag....(I had emptied probably 2 pounds of it on my water break)...........Any ways
.................Thanks for Looking,and .....H.H.

WTG Dave, after we talked last night I realized where you were hunting. GOIO and I hit that same spot last year with the F75 and SE. It just goes to show everyone that the etrac is THE metal detector for finding the good stuff. TMAN...

Wow Dave, you really took a lot of prisoners today  I can only dream of finding that many silvers :P

For that white 1/8" plexi. . . I'm pretty sure you can order it through any mirror & glass shop. . . if not, PM me, I might have an extra piece lying around someplace.

Take care,
Mark

Dave, Dave, Dave....what can I say...I'm sitting here with my jaw dropped! Are your sure your just drinking water or does it have that secret stuff in it that Comcast uses for their high speed signal.
Congrats on a super day!

You've been hanging around Goio too much! Holy crap. Nice assortment and sheer number of coins, sir!

Sir McEtrac, it's got a ring to it (no pun intended.)

Congratulations!

Man those are some killer finds!!! what kind of camera are you using there,,, great pics,,!!!

Thanks ( artzstuff1 )........................It took quit a bit of time to clean them and set up for pics.............I use a Panasonic DMC-FZ5 5 mega pixel camera that has a 12 X optical zoom....Al tho I did not use Zoom,I just shot in Macro mode......I am just starting to take Macro pics with it,and in a learning process,as I have never read the manual...But it is easy to use.....
............................The credit should go to ( watercolor ), here on the Illinois forum. I learned some lighting tricks from one of his posts in the last month..........
...............I found out I had my camera set up with too low exposure, and had to put the exposure up to +1 to + 1 2/3 to make better Macro pictures...
Thank You..........and everyone else for looking ,and commenting on this thread.....H.H.

Hey Dave,

Again, nice finds. I'm wondering if you dug any old nickels. I know a lot of people don't bother with those signals, but I thought maybe you investigated those tones in the woods. Just curious. Keep up your great posts!

No (Twistidd)..................................Since having my E-Trac for 7 months now.........I have taken GOIO's,and others advice to only listen for mid threw high tones ,and ignore the rest........It's a shame too, cause if I would have trained my ears on the Nickle tones as well.....I imagine I would have dug several old V's and Buff's by now.........The last few hunts out there,I would slow down, and listen for and dig several tabs.............................Then after my 5th or 6th tab.......I would just listen for higher tones....The place is full of Low conductors, and There is alot of area still to be hunted.......Most of it is Non - Productive with lots of iron ,tabs, and casings & bullets...................
So for now I will just speed hunt to keep up with GOIO,and T-Man.........With those guys you can't waste time or they will split a given areas silver goodies between them LOL...............Now that you have brought it up tho.............I think I will make up a special pattern that accepts ALL silver while rejecting ALL but a narrow band where the Nickles come in,,,,for hunting the Really trashy areas.................Should have S O M E .....Luck...........HH
