I was going to go out on Christmas Eve to see if I could find a present to "unwrap" on Christmas. But, I just don't feel like doing that, so I went today! :tongue3:

It was another fad walk in the clad. But that was ok.

Poor Blingster "heard" what seemed to be a shiny, shiny. He's half asleep from his winter napping. Every time he tried to check it out. Frogger and Fishy would pull it from one side to the other. :tongue3:

But I do think I might have gotten a bit of a Christmas present after all. I mean, besides being *able* to still go for a walk 2 days before Christmas!! And.....finding all that!

The nickel at the top is what I call a new drop of something old.

Those who are familiar know to what I'm referring. But my eyes are too tired to even try to determine.

Here's the best pic I can get, I'll leave it to fresher eyes to decide:

Thanks for peeking.
To all a very Merry Christmas!
And...to all...a good night! :icon_santa:

Not sure what your looking at.
Maybe your talking something I'm not familiar with ?
I'm not up on the Small/Large Mint Mark deal

Not Silver No big Letter and too early a date.

and
with an s ,
it's Not a "Henning" I'm aware of

Defiantly a keeper though in my Book even if it were Tarnished from Dirt. anything pre 59 usually Gets
Slabbed in a .cardboard Coin holder here.

Hi Jeff! Long time no see!

There is a 1941-"large S" variety. And, it wasn't tired eyes that was giving me trouble. Its *old* eyes. I still can't tell, but even if not, kind of special finding something that close for Christmas? Pretty special.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Good job I always see every target as a Christmas gift I get tired of unwrapping empty boxes here in A2 lol. Happy Holidays my friend. Tommy

Nice hunt, congrats! :occasion14:

Merry Christmas and May God Bless!

Merry Christmas to you!

UPDATE

I'm still just relying on my own poor eyes. But, near as I can tell, its not the large "S" variety. Which wouldn't surprise me. Feel free to disagree though if you see it otherwise.

Thanks for the comments.Hope everyone had a nice Christmas!

BTB...Only 366 more shopping days til Christmas!! :tongue3:

Surprise update.

I finally took this nickel to an expert and he says he doesn't think its a large "S" variety either. But then he asked me if I'd noticed the small rotation error. I said...and I quote!

"HUH!?!?!?" :tongue3:

I could see it when he showed me but I had no clue how to show here.

What I did was place a small piece of tape at the very top of Jefferson's head, at the angle his head Is pointing. Then, arranged the reverse so the dome is at the top. You can see the angle is different.

Not worth anything but this is one interesting coin for me. 8-) (He did offer me 10 bucks for it though. LOL )
