Clip or hanger or ????

Hi all,

My first hunt of the season was in a field. We were able to find some open areas (no snow) where the matted down grass kept the ground from freezing solid. I found these two items in the same general area. I'm not really sure what either one of them may be. A friend thought perhaps a weapon hanger. Also recovered from that area was an 1893 Indian Head Penny. Thanks for looking.

Yeah, that the type of thing I'm thinking about. I also wonder if its for a heavy horse for pulling stuff. I'm sure its to do with horses but can't find a similar one.

I've looked all over too. I can see where it is worn on one end as if something hung or was attached to it. I'll keep looking though. Thanks for everyones replies
