Here is a portion of the iron I have been pulling out of the huge field I have been hunting. I have yet to find a coin there but with all of the 1800 relics there has to be something worth my time.

Dang! Is that a musket ball mold?!?! Very nice.

No such luck...although I have no idea what it is...

Those are some cool finds. There's gotta be a coin or two in that field.

Holy Iron Batman!! :D

I found the same item that's in the top center of your pic...long 'spike' item...any ideas what it is? ???

Can't wait to see all the rest of the finds from the field... :)

Not sure but I think it is part of a plow...

Just a matter of time before a nice coin pops out . ;)

The gadget in the top middle of the pic is part of a mowing machine... either from a combine or mowing machine. The blade assembly slides in the middle and the pointy end moves the grass/grain towards the cutting blade. You can see the bolt hole on the right side where it bolts to the bar.

Usually there will be four to six feet of these bolted side by side depending on the width of the cutting machine.

Nice finds

Nice finds

Nice informative first post. Cheers, I have found & cleared several over here.

Don't get me wrong...I would rather find relics over coins, with the exception of Spanish silver. I am very interested in relics like buttons, buckles, etc. I would take a nice pewter Rev. War button over a coin anyday. Although I am a huge fan of Spanish Silver (aren't we all) and that is my pinacle.

Interesting. I think I like them about equal and I guess have done about equal in finding... except for this year. Decent coin finds have not been getting under the coil. Maybe I'll break out with a bigtime one... one that buys a detector with money to spare! :o ;D

I think you could probably do that with one of your most recent finds IP! At least a good second hand E-bay job!

the spike thingy is off a harrow used after the blow the make the feild nice and soft and flat
they still use them

hmmm yeah maybe a used one. Once it went in my case I never gave a second thought to value. Should I at some point need the cash and begin to thin my collection it will probably go, but until that time it has a home.
