Clear water pump for dregde

I see that Harbor Frieght has a clear water pump real cheap.It has a 2 1/2 opening and does about 260 gph.Can I use this since it has a 2 1/2 hose too pick up small gravel as my dregde.Thanks

Heavy but cheap and it'll work ok with a hose under 10' a suction and keep the footvalve hose shorter too. These honda knockoffs are extremely delicate in the beginning and the breakin period is MANDATORY or they just fry and die-John

Am I wrong, or are you talking about actually using the pump to move the gravel. That's what I get from what you wrote. If that's the case do a little more reading. You DON'T want to send gravel thru the pump!

enamel is right don't send gravel thru the pump!!!!! use a venturi.

here's mine ,a clear water pump from max tool . $200 shipped. 3" in and out ,then I reduced it to a 2" [high pressure side] -I run 20' of 3"hose -----way more suction than the original briggs with a keene pump. only trade off is it's way heavier ,had to move the pontoons about 7" forward. and is harder to move by myself .
