I have several items: a WWII Japanese cavalry sword and an 1876 French Gras Bayonet, a Japanese compass (that goes on a wristwatch band) and their version of a P-38 can opener; All of which my Grandpa brought back from the Philippines after his service. I want to clean these up and eventually display them. Of course, I'm not too worries about collector value because I don't intend on getting rid of them.

What is the best way to clean a sword? What cleaner do you all recommend and what has worked for you in the past? Would posting pictures help in determining what route to take? I guess if you all want to see them anyhow, I can post. I am always reluctant to post pics as I try to keep 'opsec' in mind (treasec? :tongue3: )

As always, thank you all and I appreciate the help!
