Hope all is well, HH

Nice assortment of goodies! Looks like a fun hunt.
Get the rock tested and let us know what you find out! Good Luck!

Not quite sure what you are referring to by "... nice sized earring. Stamped 925, on reverse." But I can tell you the 925 stands for sterling silver, and is required on sterling silver objects now. If this is the shiny stone, I hope the stone is a diamond! It might be, as diamonds are not always set in gold or platinum.

Oh man! I've been there before. Great signal, dig, wipe dirt away and the flash of that big stone takes your breath away... Drive to the local jeweler imagining all the toys a diamond this size could buy! Nervous tension while she looks with the loop, and then the smile.... Nope, just a CZ in silver. Damn!!! Deflated but fun! The experience is the payday!

I hope your stone is real! If not this one, the next for sure...

Did someone say 'tax token!'? ;D
Congrats on all those finds, Zach! That would be awesome if the earring happens to be a diamond! :o

In meaning the stone is a nice size, yeah i understand 925. Would be nice. I went by to get it checked out but they were closed until tomorrow...

So now all you're wondering about is the stone? In that case.

The difference between cubic zirconia and diamond is that cubic zirconia is transparent from one direction only: the front. A real diamond is transparent from the back as well. It should look just as clear when looked at through the *point* of the stone as from the flat *front*. If one side is cloudy, it probably is CZ.

Oh, and another thing.

Large diamonds usually have occlusions in them. An occlusion may not be obvious with the naked eye, so need to look at the stone under 10-20x magnification. Or just take a picture of the stone itself and blow it up on your computer screen. If a real diamond it likely will have tiny imperfections within the matrix. Cubic zirconia OTOH are grown and generally don't have imperfections.
