Found this marble in a flower bed along the sidewalk near dowtown. Town from 1686. I'd say my favorite find of the year. I may have found spanish silver, lc's, 1600s buckle and lots of buttons, bottles and indian artifacts this year. But after 27 years of digging, probing, looking I had never found one. Ok, now you can go back to looking at all the great finds being found. HH!

Found my 2nd one this year 3 days ago off white. It’s was in the same plug of a 1907 V Nickel. I just love them best because you really gotta get luck. I got very lucky because they had some shells in the plug the same color. Congratulations on yours and the rest of your finds.

Very cool find on that clay marble...Congrats!!

As I put on Truth2153's last post, " great find". I always like to find the clay marbles. Congrats on your first one. A piece of advice to those of you looking for a clay marble. If you have access to hunting the fields, try to look for a spot where an old schoolhouse stood. That is where I have found the majority of mine. You will also find them where the old homesteads stood, but the schoolhouses are obviously going to have a higher percentage of success. I know not everyone has access to fields, but your chances will increase. I did find an orangish colored clay marble one time in a yard. It was buried in the hole with two Indian Head pennies. So you yard hunters, dont give up !

Congratualtions on the marble find, they are very special! :occasion14:

I have had the pleasure of finding many of them and each one is very special to me. To think a child long ago loved this "toy" and probably played with it on a daily basis.

Clay marbles are special to me as well. Someone had to create it and then it became a toy for a child. Congrats on adding a cool old relic to your collection of treasures.:hello2:

congrats. havent found one in prob 20 years. used to find them when farmers did more plowing tho.
