hello all i would like to know if this is a old clay marble if not what would it be?

you sure it's clay? has an almost identical color of the patina of a long buried musket ball

pretty sure it is clay my detector doesnt do anything when waved underneath it.

Looks like a clay marble to me, different clay from different parts of the country will look different than others. I have found them dark brown and some creamy and all in between.

its the first one ive found the house i live in was built in 1900 but i found this right next to a trailer thats on our property i was digging a signal and this was in the hole. I am in cny. how old do you think it is?

Glass marble were first mass produced in 1915, so your clay marble would date before that, from around the first mass production of clay marbles in 1884 to early 1900s, it could be even earlier than that but 1884 was when clay marbles became widely availiable.
