Hey guys, is there anyone who could put an estimate on how old this clay jug is? My fiend caugh it in a scollop dredge off of New York

Cool looking jug! I really like that.I saw a broken one on a MD clip a while back and thought it was neat.

Most of these type old stoneware bottles I saw doing a search were for liqueur of some type, it could be for gin, whiskey, sake, etc., I saw many similar to almost the same, but I couldn't find any that that the rough looking mouth that this one has, the bottles looked the same but the mouths were more refined/uniformed.

If it's much much older than the ones I found doing a search it could also be for oils of some type, olive oil, etc.
