I think it's a hand tinted photograph. I would venture to say it is a period piece. I would be more interested to know if that is his writing/ sig. on the back. Does have certain similar characteristics. What are the dimensions of the photo?

does look like his handwriting wonder what year he started the watermark instead of signing in hand . here is the frame. and a couple more picks im looking up i got that day
