Measures about one inch in diameter. Appears to be made of copper.
When open, the spring steel design on the back holds it open, and also hold it closed. There is a post that prevents it from closing all the way.

I've debated tie clip (wouldn't look right sideways), some kind of button cover (nope) etc.

Any guesses?

And always the question....age?

I believe there were 2 of these connected by a dainty chain, Women used them back in the day.
