Clad or Nothing

I usually wait for a chance to hunt old areas, I'll sometimes out of boredom
or just to get out check out the tot lots or local parks. I'd rather find the old
stuff. Usually, if I'm at a playground, I give most of it to the kids or let them
scratch coins out of the chips, I like to see the big smiles. They think it's magic
when you tell them, there's a dime or quarter right here & they find it.

i like findin the old stuff, but goin claddin is always a BLAST ! and that's where the jewelry is too.. ;D ;D ;D everyone is different.....

Some days I am happy to find a sack of clad. But mostly, I like hunting the old sites.

I dont know that i would rather find nothing
but i know a park where there is so much clad i had to leave it was so boring.

ME WANTS SILVER

I like both. Old coins are nice, but becoming fewer and farther between, but clad can be cleaned and saved to buy equipment or old coins from coin shops. Also, what one might consider junk from an old location may be a relic to the next person. I like finding old stuff even when it has little or no value.
Merry Christmas
Bill

Don't get me wrong here i like finding old stuff but it gets kind of boring when you leave empty handed. Sometimes a trip to the local park for a bunch of clad is lots of fun(Battery cash).

Would you rather spend your time detecting old sites & finding nothing like I did today or go to a park or tot lot ect & find a sack of clad ? HH :-\
old doesn't mean "nothing" ;)

I do not have access to old sites yet. I try to hit the older ballfields and parks. Today was a clad hunt. I came away with $7.46, which goes in my jar. At the end of the year I will buy something for the hobby.

I would love to find old stuff. I have found some but not much, Beale.

I haven't hunted yet. Planning a hunt tomorrow at several OLD home sites. I also own land in Fort Gaines, Ga. The land is virgin land. I've found arrowheads there.
It's a tiny town rich with history. I think hunting for coins will be fun too. I'll save it up for the year and buy some more gear. Between the two choices, I would rather find old things.

mix and match --- some tot lot --some other hunts -- tot lots for quick fixes as their close by --then the "other spots" when you got a fair bit of time to devote to a serious hunt for serious items --- breaks up pace -- keeps you from getting jaded.

It's hard to find nothing! I have excellent results at all old sites. Aluminum beer cans, pull tabs, rusted junk, more rusted junk. Unless you are talking about coins exclusively, there is stuff everywhere. Just not necessarily good stuff.

Me, too. I don't think I've ever visited an old site without finding something.

Isn't clad nothing, too? :P :D Gotcha clad hunters! :D

BDD...Kirk

P.S. These sentences were from KirkPA's imagination, so don't take it personally. :D ;D

As a newbie, may I suggest spending some time at school yards hunting for clad. This will teach you how to pinpoint and learn good signals from bad.I went through 3 machines this year, and my first stop is the tot lot with every new machine.I got familiar with them quick. Now then I have hunted some older places and found almost nothing good. One hunt at an old library yielded a 1920 merc dime for 2 hours of swinging. Is it worth it? OOOHHH YEA..For me its relaxation .

Old sites for me. I'm hooked on relics and history now.
