Today I found $3.31 in clad in a gravel parking lot, took about an hour and a half. I can't believe how much of it was just sitting on the surface. My daughter was trying out some cleaner that she has, said it would clean it up for me....I didn't get to check it before I left but I did see that the solution she was soaking it in had started to turn green after a short while. If it works at all I'll pass it on.

if you have play grounds with bark or mulch for a surface take one of those little hand rake's,it will be worth it, shovel's and probe's are not much help.

Gravel didn't affect the MD at all, I use a little rake (garden cultivater) it works well as I don't plan to dig deep into the gravel and yet it will get down in there pretty good. I try to look for the deeper gravel lots but mostly any that have lots of traffic in them. I'm still looking to pop out a ring one of these days.

I used to live in a town called Cloquet MN. Down at the grocery store in winter, the parking lot would have about 2" of slush on it! That parking lot was covered with loose change because the people wouldn't reach into the slush to get it! Every new snow, plows would come and shove all the snow(and coins and everything else!) over into a corner of the parking lot! There are mounds of dirt there where this has gone on for years, wish I had this hobby then! 8)

Hey free another good place to look is at those little road side markets were people sell fruits and stuff. Check it out.

Great job keep hunting.

just keep diggin and wont be long till you will have silver to tell about.
