Latest finds are a hammered half penny, looks like Edward III, 1327-77. And more interestingly a 17th Century gun powder flask cap. This probably dates to around the time of the English civil war. The war was fought between parliament, led by Oliver Cromwell, and king Charles I. The king thought he could rule by the divine right of kings. Parliament disagreed, Charles lost and was beheaded in 1649. England was then ruled as a commonwealth from 1649-60. The monarchy was restored (sadly in my view) in 1660. Strange to think this bit of lead played it's part in such turbulent times.

Robert.

cool, love the history info

That's some good stuff! So much history over there across the pond

Pretty good condition for one of those.

Nice one and yet another silver.:icon_thumright:

Nice finds! Only if the silver wasnt bent and torn a bit! :sadsmiley: But, Great Finds! :laughing7: ~Thanks, TheButtonKing

When you see how fragile these hammered coins are, it's a wonder many come up in one piece ButtonKing:thumbsup:

Being thrown around by a plough for a couple of hundred years and sitting in the soils for another 500 almost it's a wonder they look as great as they do sometimes.
