I had a good day today with 17 coin finds, mostly clad and Memorial cents. Among the coin finds was a Canadian silver quarter. The most interesting find was a civil war veteran medal. It is a Wisconsin State Encampment medal. It is marked The Grand Army of the Republic, Veteran 1861-1866. It is dated May 20th to May 22nd, 1896. This is one of my coolest finds, but not my most valuable. I also found an old Barlow pocket knife and a heavy steel toy pistol, but both of these are in pretty bad condition. The neat thing is I was only detecting for about one and a half hours. I will try to attach a photo of the medal. 11295538_10153372101482940_3125213738251025705_n.jpg

Awesome finds...love the medal!

Wow, that's a really good find. I'd love to dig anything with a connection to the civil war.

Hello Johncoho. Very nice find, and in real good shape too. Good luck to you. C9

You don't see GAR items dug too often and yours is in great shape.
