Hello all! I got out today with a couple friends to a hard hit picket line. The pickings were very slim but I did find one nice relic, a belt keeper. If I realized what it was when I found it I would've been looking for the buckle! I also found a 1910 wheatie & a couple overall buttons (different site). It was a long, tough day but it was great to get out with some friends, get some exercise & save some history! Thanks for looking & HH!

Cool find buddy! Have not seen one before

I haven't ever seen these in posts, I guess they're not too common (versus bullets). My buddy helped me with the ID. It makes you wonder how often stuff like this gets discarded as trash...

Hey bud - nice one. It is actually a belt adjuster, not belt keeper. They are less common than bullets and buttons, but still found fairly often. Where ever you found that, the buckle might not be too far.

Those and scabbards are some of my favorite medium brass to dig in camps as you see them dug far less than typical j-hooks and knapsack brass.

Thanks Dan. I've seen them called adjusters & keepers. Thanks for clarifying. I'm still pretty new to CW relic hunting.

Nice. I found one not to long ago. Believe I posted it. Looked for the buckle but nada. Going back in the fall.
Good find!!

buckles probably long gone, the finder grabbed it and ran without looking for the adjuster

Awesome find!!!!!

Very nice find. Congrats.

Those keepers do show up from time to time in camps so there's always the possibility, like you said, of the buckle showing up. Hope that happens for ya Josh. Good luck!
