More like one hell of a hole!! I hope that hat pin is CW I dont know why it wouldn't be being found in a camp and all !
 

Well just found out that hat pin is post war! thanks too the person who left it there in 1875-1905 great way too lose a post war hat pin. oh well! still kewl i guess
 

agreed about the hole.i do believe it is cw im trying to see if I can find something about.if not im sure someone will know all about it.

yeah that's what I found out to.20th infantry company b pin is still a great find though.
 

Thanks Mr. Vol there is a camp here in Stafford known as "The Shaler camp" can you say dug out 99.9%? on the ground that is! Lots of huts and trash pits remaining. This the same camp where D.P. Newton (Who owns White Oak Museum in Stafford) found his VSS buckle many many years ago! You should come take a trip here too Stafford one weekend with the crew and let me show you around the Museum and a few camps! - Hut

We may just take you up on that as your finds are impressive from a very historic site. I have never hunted that area. HH, Quindy.

Congrats on the pit finds. Shalers are tough to find. I hope you get into some glass, civil war era glass is my favorite thing to find
